Job Description:
Position: Dosimetrist
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift Type: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
The Dosimetrist performs 2-D and 3-D conformal radiation therapy treatment planning on our Radiation Therapy Planning (RTP) system, assists in CT-based virtual simulations, performs dosimetry calculations for external beam treatment, Intensity Modulated Radiation Treatment (IMRT) on TomoTherapy machine and Varian21 Ix; and brachytherapy treatment. The Dosimetrist also produces electronic copies of treatment plans, as well as transfers the treatment plans from the RTP system to the Verify & Recording (V&R) system. The Dosimetrist actively participates in the generation of radiation dose distribution and dose calculations as well as assisting the medical physicist(s) in various treatment planning, dosimetry and QA/QC activities
- Must demonstrate independent judgement and decision-making capabilities.
- Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment and supplies as needed.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attendance at all mandatory education, as required.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- 1 year minimum as a medical dosimetrist, involved in treatment planning and dose calculations
- Bachelor degree required (in physical or biological sciences, preferred)
- MADOS - MA Dosimetrist License
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- BLS (AHA)
STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Massachusetts
