We’re looking to hire an energetic and outgoing host/hostess with outstanding customer service skills. You’ll need excellent communication skills to answer phone inquiries and make reservations. Your main duties include welcoming guests and guiding them to a table that has been cleared and cleaned. You’ll ensure that there are enough seats for the entire party and check that each guest has tableware. Your attire should be professional and neat, with comfortable shoes so you can stand on your feet frequently throughout your shift. $5 hourly tips
Responsibilities:- Clean up and clear plates after guests leave, and get the table ready for the next customers
- Direct customers to their seats, ensuring tables are set properly with enough tableware for each diner, water glasses are filled, and menus are sanitized
- Check the dining room constantly for cleanliness and organization and restock condiments on the table as necessary
- Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared
- Welcome all diners with a friendly attitude to create an excellent first impression
- This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED and a good command of the English language
- Some restaurant, hospitality, and/or food services industry experience is preferred
- Must have excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills, as well as the ability to deal with customer requests in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner
- Must be able to handle a fast-paced atmosphere with periods of standing on feet for an extended length of time
