Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The Role
As a member of the site operational services group, shaft operations, you will be responsible for:
- Assuming deckperson and cagetender duties ensuring site targets are met in a safe and efficient manner
- Assisting other shaftpersons to stage and load the materials into the cage and with shaft slinging activities
- Assisting with headframe, hoistroom and laydown clean up
- Operating, inspecting and maintaining the main cage and skip conveyance
- Preparing equipment and materials to be moved to/from the underground using slings and rigging
- Operating equipment such as telehandler and skid steer loader
- Working with a diverse workforce (Cameco employees, contractors and trades personnel)
- Fulfill all duties as detailed in the mines regulations Mine Shaft 3 operator training requirements
Required:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of underground mining experience
- Must successfully pass the crane and rigging course
- Ability to work at heights using fall protection
- Willing to work in confined spaces
- Excellent communication skills and team player attitude Work a rotational schedule, including days/nights, and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
- Previous mine shaft experience
- 40hr Crane and Rigging Certification
- PME certification ie: telehandler and skidsteer
