POSITION CDL DRIVER -CLASS A  POSITION SUMMARYThe primary function of this safety sensitive position is to drive flatbed trucks and curtain-side trailers to efficiently and accurately deliver products to customers. CDL Drivers must exhibit a courteous andprofessional attitude to our customers at all times.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Willing and able to work safely at all timesMust satisfy all DOT requirementsPerform daily pre and post trip inspections of truck to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirementsEnsure that material loaded for delivery matches shipping documents and that the products are in good conditionAbility to load and unload materials up to 50 lbs.Able to lift up to 50 lbs.Ensure proper weight distribution of materials for DOT compliance Properly and safely secure material in the truck to ensure no damage in transit in the truck to ensure no damage in transitMaintain and update electronic logbook, trip reports, and on-board computer as required to ensure they are up to date at all times  Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customersCommunicate any problems upon delivery to the branch immediately Communicate and interact with customers in a courteous and professional mannerDevelop and maintain a working knowledge of products and inventoryUnderstand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workersAttend periodic safety meetings as requiredCDL Drivers may also work in the warehouse as neededSafe and timely loading and unloading of trucks for delivery Maintain warehouse in a clean, orderly and safe mannerOther tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONSForklift experience and certificationKnowledge of safety procedures while performing driving and materials handling tasksAbility to read and understand maps, routes, road signs Excellent customer service skills Good verbal communication skillsWarehouse experience, preferably in the building materials industry or in a distribution environment REQUIREMENTSAbility to pass drug test, background verifications, and a DOT medical examinationMust have a valid Class A CDL Driver’s License and an acceptable driving recordMust be at least 18 years of ageMust have at least 1 year of verifiable driving experience within the last 3 years
