Position Summary: The EHR Specialist supports the E.H.R Project Manager in implementing changes to the agency’s client health information system in order to maximize system capabilities and transition to a fully electronic clinical record in compliance with county, state and federal healthcare reform. The EHR Specialist will work closely with the EHR Manager on projects assigned by the EHR Project Manager, training, and documentation of system, report writing, report analysis,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are essential to this role:
- Update and maintain a user guide for EHR system users
- Work with EHR Manager to develop and maintain administrative and clinical workflows
- Onboard new hires to the EHR, training domain, OQ and the Credible LMS – placing new hires on the necessary program teams with correct security role
- Remove terminated employees’ to both EHR domains and OQ application
- Onboard and remove prescribing medical staff
- Create and implement training for staff on how to use the EHR software
- Run imports and maintenance queries according to EHR schedules
- Provide ongoing support to staff regarding issues/concerns with the EHR software
- Ensure that the EHR maintains client confidentiality and functions within HIPAA regulations
- Participate in new or modified program projects
- Develop and/or modify forms in the EHR

Qualifications

- Completed a four-year degree in related field
- Must be knowledgeable about maintaining security and analyzing electronic data to improve healthcare information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in the Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol and/or non-profit industry preferred.
- Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Teams is preferred.
- Previous experience with using an EHR is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL is preferred.

- Communicate with clients and co-workers to exchange accurate information.

- Attend meetings using RingCentral Meetings application.
- Sensory: Frequently required to read documents, written reports, and plans. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with residents and staff, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and understand/be understood using the English language.
- Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend to a task/function for 20-45 minutes at a time. Frequently required to understand and relate to specific ideas, several at a time. Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery, such as copy machine, printer, or fax.
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.
- This position requires frequent driving. A valid California driver license, reliable personal vehicle, current personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are all essential job requirements.
- Must be able to pass post offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Community Care Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.
- A personal cell phone with reliable service and, if applicable, a data plan to use for business purposes.
- May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
