Camp Courageous is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides year-round recreational, respite, and travel opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Camp Courageous offers a variety of services including weeklong camp sessions, respite weekends, family camp sessions, outdoor experiential sessions, and travel program. The camp operates primarily on donations without government assistance, formal sponsorship, or paid fundraisers. On an annual basis, Camp Courageous serves thousands of individuals with disabilities ranging in age from 1 to 105.
Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting with food production and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in the dietary department of a healthcare facility. Responsibilities: - Assist with food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the dietary staff - Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality and quantity of meals - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment - Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to prevent foodborne illnesses - Assist with food service, including setting up dining areas, serving meals, and providing excellent customer service to residents/patients - Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating food items - Follow all safety protocols and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel Experience: - Previous experience in a dietary department or food service setting is preferred but not required - Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment is a plus - Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is desirable - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team Please note that all positions at our facility are paid positions.
