Reports to: General Manager of Location

Subordinates: Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (some days may require more than 8 hours, some weeks may require additional workdays). May be required to attend industry/company functions outside of normal business hours.

Position Summary

The Project Manager (PM) will assist the General Manager to attain production goals and is directly responsible for overseeing the field construction operations within the Region. Superior leadership skills are critical overseeing the field crews in the operations department. The PM will represent Camp to the customers with the highest level of competence and professionalism.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

The PM must communicate with other Camp employees, vendors, subcontractors and clients including property-level, mid-level and upper-level executives and owners. The PM must have sufficient education, experience and communication skills (oral and written) to effectively discharge the assigned duties. Must have completed OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 courses, or complete OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 within 60 days after program enrollment.

Responsibilities

The Camp Project Manager (PM) represents Camp in company meetings and events, on the jobsites and at industry functions. The PM is responsible for the following key duties:

  • Prepare construction budgets, construction schedules, safety and quality controls.
  • Determine material, subcontractor, and labor requirements.
  • Buy-out of jobs within an approved construction budget of less than $5,000.00
  • Assist salesman/project manager with buy-out of jobs in excess of $5,000.00.
  • Supervise, train and motivate the superintendents.
  • Conduct regular and routine safety and quality inspections.
  • Assist superintendents in solving complex construction and code problems as well as subcontractor relations issues.
  • Ensure that company’s policies and procedures are followed including jobsite safety program.
  • For all assigned jobs:
  • Create Planning Lines
  • Set up budget for project – oversee and manage financials – forecasting
  • Set up POs and COs
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings; inspect jobsites at least weekly; produce weekly reports to the Director of Construction; verify change orders are documented; and, ensure customer satisfaction through job completion; and, assist sales team with facilitating collections as needed.
  • Attend EPC Calls and job kick-off meetings.
  • Facilitate monthly forecasting projects.
  • Create reports on financial health of projects.
  • Oversee buyout for each project and cultivate & maintain healthy, effective and mutually beneficial relationships with vendors and subcontractors, while seeking out new sources for same. Spot-check payables weekly.
  • Investigate and resolve client inquiries and complaints.
  • Advise General Manager of problems with staff and projects.
  • Create increased profitability through creative cost-saving measures.
  • Participate in the emergency on-call rotation and manage the BUCU process and equipment.
  • Practice safe driving for Camp and encourage direct reports to do likewise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

  • Los Angeles, CA: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
