About the position:

As Ceramics Counselor Studio Manager you will further the mission of camp through the development and supervision of age-appropriate ceramics programming.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside the Art Director to build a creative and age-appropriate ceramics curriculum.
  • Allowing campers to explore their imagination and complete individual and group pieces of art– both for the camp community and that they can take home.
  • Teaching campers various ceramics techniques and styles on the wheel.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized ceramics studio including the proper disposal of clay waste and cleaning wheels and studio floor.
  • Running the kiln, and overseeing the completion of projects.
  • Ensuring camper safety and enforcing safety rules of ceramics program area.
  • Educating campers and staff on equipment use.
  • Overseeing other counselors so that they may help activities run smoothly.

Schedule Compensation:

  • Work 2-4 days per week, from, on average, 9AM - 5PM.
  • Daily schedule includes an hour of prep (activities start 10AM); plus a break of 1 hour in the middle of the day for lunch.
  • Day includes up to 4 periods a day– each period is 50 minutes– in the ceramics studio with campers.
  • Starting salary $22/ hour. 3 meals a day are included.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
