Camp Towanda is the premier co-ed, 7 week sleep-away camp for children ages 7-17. We offer a well rounded program of activities from sports, to the waterfront, Outdoor Adventure and the Arts.

Camp Towanda is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and diligent Head Culinary Instructor to teach our campers, both boys and girls, ages 7-17. As a Culinary Instructor you will be teaching daily cooking classes. Typically there are 3 classes (1.5-2 hours each) per day of 12 campers per class, plus prep work. Sous Chefs assistants and support staff will be provided. This program is part of our additional options program which allows campers with specific interests to participate. Those campers who choose to participate are excited and enthusiastic about learning culinary skills.

The Head Culinary Instructor will develop menus and compile purchasing orders. We have examples from past years which we will share. Culinary Interns will support the Head Instructor. This is a great opportunity to develop your teaching skills, share your passion and be part of a fun team!

Job Requirements:

  • Available mid-June thru mid-August.
  • Menu creation (typically 3 items per class)
  • Teach cooking and kitchen basics
  • Kitchen management
  • Compiling purchasing order for food
  • Qualified references
  • Great with children
  • Strong work ethic
  • Passion for creativity

This position requires living on site at Camp Towanda.

Housing, food, laundry and entertainment is provided

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $1,500.00 - $2,000.00 per month

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
