General Summary
The Quality Specialist's primary role is to serve as a liaison between Quality Assurance (QA) and Manufacturing. In this role the QA Specialist provides support to the manufacturing operations on first shift with some off shift work required. This includes responsibility for compliance to all company and regulatory policies/procedures pertaining to product safety/quality. This may include environmental duties. The identified candidate is a technical resource for Manufacturing and Engineering, providing some leadership and guidance in the areas of document control, incident investigation and resolution, product protection and sanitation, troubleshooting and other related matters. The candidate will also provide support to employee training, product, process, sanitation and pest control audits. The QA Specialist must have a sound working knowledge of Campbell's quality system requirements. Some laboratory duties may be required.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Supports the update of all Food Safety and Quality Plans (including HACCP, MCP, SSOPs, etc.) Responsible for routine decisions related to product quality and safety may perform non-routine work operating complex equipment without supervision. Operates/troubleshoots complex lab equipment and responds to equipment malfunctions with little or no direct supervision. Uses various computer support systems for data manipulation, basic analysis and reports of product quality information.
2. Participates in quality system audit activities as necessary. May include internal or external customers. Functions as QA representative on non-routine activities associated with project/team assignments which may include: specification development, quality design support, new product start-ups, training, instrument evaluation or method development, etc. Supports efforts to educate and train the workforce on food quality and safety programs.
3. Validates the effectiveness of our cleaning procedures utilizing microbiological testing. Participates in collaborative studies to maintain lab procedure knowledge.
4. Conduct pre-shipment reviews of food safety/quality records to assure regulatory compliance, including electronic record review and allow for timely release of product to meet customer service requirements. Conducts reviews and disposition of product requiring micro testing, container integrity evaluations, or Process Safety review/release.
5. Coordinates sterilizer testing, heat penetration and distribution testing, and rotational testing. Coordinates activities with warehouse reconditioning, product development, process safety, and quality assurance. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities within the plant.
6. Investigates and analyzes incidents and non-conformances, takes corrective action and/or makes recommendations as appropriate for routine incidents. Functions as QA representative on non-routine activities associated with project/team assignments which may include: specification development, quality design support, new product start-ups, training, instrument evaluation or method development, etc.

Job Specifications
* Education: Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field preferred.
* 2 years related experience in the food industry, microbiology or related field.
Working Conditions
Work is conducted mostly in an office environment. When in the manufacturing environment, strict adherence to GMP and Safety policy is required. Travel may be expected occasionally and flexibility with regard to work hours is required to accommodate reporting deadlines and training schedules.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$85,900.00 - $158,900.00Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
