Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all warehouse operations as a hands-on leader, serving and motivating warehouse employees, leading by example, and fostering a positive team-building atmosphere. The candidate will supervise and continuously improve all inbound, outbound, and internal inventory movement.           

 

Work Activities

  • Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials. 
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements. 
  • Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services. 
  • Monitor inventory levels of products or materials in warehouses. 
  • Track and trace goods while they are en route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary. 
  • Issue shipping instructions and provide routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated. 
  • Arrange for necessary shipping documentation and contact customs officials to effect release of shipments. 
  • Schedule or monitor air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials.

Job Context

The incumbent generally works for about 8-10 hours per day, (Monday through Sunday, normally working 5 consecutive days. Occasionally works Scheduled off days -weekends and overtime to complete special project. Work is done indoors however the incumbent may be exposed to extreme conditions such as heat and cold. The work pace is generally moderate however the pace may increase or decrease dependent on work demand. Due to the nature of the job incumbent frequently lifts 35 pounds and may exceed 50 pounds. Strain from frequent bending stretching and reaching may occur and the incumbent is regularly exposed to dust and dirt. The Supervisor reports to the General Manager and/or the General Manager however work is done independently. The Supervisor may coordinate other employees’ activities and may assume limited supervisory role when the General Manager is absent.

 

Performance Evaluation  

The Supervisor is evaluated using a Standard Camrett Company evaluation form. The General Manager conducts evaluations.
