What are the responsibilities and job description for the Snow Laborer position at Camvie Tree & Landscaping?

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Snow Laborer. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in snow and ice removal during winter weather conditions. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, able to work in cold weather, and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

Snow Removal: Clear sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other designated areas of snow and ice using shovels, snow blowers, or other equipment as assigned.

Salt and Sand Application: Apply salt or sand to surfaces to prevent or reduce ice formation, ensuring safe pathways and driving areas.

Equipment Operation: Safely operate snow removal equipment, such as snow blowers, plows, and salt spreaders, following established guidelines and safety procedures.

Shift Work: Work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, as weather conditions dictate.

Communication: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate snow removal efforts and communicate any issues or challenges encountered during the process.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on snow removal equipment, such as refueling, checking oil levels, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

Requirements:

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, shoveling, and operating heavy equipment in cold weather conditions.

Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic, able to respond to short notice calls for snow removal.

Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to coordinate efforts with team members and follow instructions from supervisors.

Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in slippery and icy conditions.

Experience: Previous experience in snow removal or similar outdoor labor is preferred but not required.

Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record may be required for positions that involve operating motorized equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
