JOB TITLE
The Title of this position is Human Resource Coordinator.
JOB DESCIPTION SUMMARY
The HR Coordinator position is responsible for interviewing, testing, and referring applicants for clerical, technical, administrative and management positions throughout the company. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company s organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
The functional role of the HR Coordinator is to maintain personnel information, provide for employee development, assist managers with obtaining a viable and qualified work force, assist with employee benefit administration process, and monitor compliance to federal and state laws.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The HR Coordinator is appointed by, and reports to, the Human Resources Manager.
The use of analytical and observational skills which demonstrate an ability to organize, assist H.R. Manager with department budget, and assist with controlling recruitment costs and turnover.
Mathematical
The ability to understand and use basic mathematics for payroll calculations.
Language
Fluent in English. Reading, writing, and the ability to communicate clearly via written and oral form. Spanish verbal communication a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
TRAVEL
This position requires up to 10% travel. All travel is within the State of Georgia.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Partner with H.R. Manager to determine department needs.
Maintain accurate employee records and make updates in system as needed.
Assist HR Manager with Benefits during Open Enrollment.
Register all new hires for mandatory training; research/register existing employees for training; keep training files up to date; order training materials.
Handle G/L & W/C Claims; complete OSHA forms annually.
Maintain drug free and safety meeting logs; assist with harassment claims as requested.
Initiate FMLA/STD/LTD paperwork; assist with medical support when requested; collection of HR forms as requested by HR Manager.
Review subcontractors timesheets/paperwork and approve subcontractor bills as requested.
Ensure that any employee termination has the necessary documents and an exit interview is scheduled (when applicable); schedule last paycheck pick-up.
Act as employee liaison for all personnel issues and complaints as needed.
Work closely with managers to help fill open positions throughout the company.
Screens resumes, interview candidates (by phone or in person), administer appropriate assessments, reference/background checking, make recommendations for hire (or not hire) and deliver employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt position openings for both offices.
Serve as an expert for recruiting candidates.
Use traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates such as career fairs, on-line job fairs, community network events, etc.
Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
Communicate important employment information during delivery of employment offers (i.e. benefits, compensation, non-competition agreements, etc).
Manage application/resume file and retention according to company policy.
Serve as back-up on phones when needed and place service calls for office equipment when receptionist is unable to do so.
Pull job related background checks as needed. Pull MVRs twice per year on each employee; review and approve IIX bill monthly; update DL expiration dates in Foundation.
Call new hires for 60-day recap.
LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
The position is granted sufficient authority to achieve the goals and objectives assigned to it. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
The HR Coordinator may not spend amounts that are not approved by the Human Resources Manager in advance.
