Assistant Facility Director

Description of essential duties and responsibilities:

• Directs staff and operations of multiple functions within the center
• Plans and manages activities; formulates program goals and objectives
• Develops or assists in development and implementation of related policy
• Interprets and administers oversight pertinent to State OJA, DHS, OHCA, and CARF requirements
• Performs staff evaluations and ongoing coaching/competency development
• Prepares or assists in preparation of annual budget and monitoring expenditures
• Maintains contact with all personnel within the county that might impact program activities
• Maintains professional demeanor at all times; prioritizes responsibilities, practice good judgement and ethics
• Prepares required quarterly and annual reports
• Directs recruitment; selection and staff retention with departments assigned
• Ensures compliance with quality assurance findings through regular audits/timely action plans
• Project management, coordination, and oversight
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications for position:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business, Counseling, Social Work, or closely related field AND at least three (3) years’ experience in staff supervision and administration or working with juveniles and juvenile related programs.
• Preference will be given to those with a Master’s degree in Administration, Business, Counseling, Social Work, or closely related field AND at least three (3) years’ experience in staff supervision and administration or working with juveniles and juvenile related programs.
• Must pass a background check, drug, and alcohol screening

Supervisory relationships:

This position reports to the Facility Director

Skills and knowledge required:

Knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques; knowledge of juvenile court/detention policies and systems; knowledge of recovery principles and practices; considerable knowledge of the resources abatable to client population; analytical skills; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; clinical skills; ability to develop strategic plans; ability to collaborate within department, agency and community. Able to perform critical thinking and apply high-level decision-making skills in a timely manner. Able to identify gaps and implement solutions. Serves as link between Facility Director and staff. Must work well with minimal supervision.

Prior experience required:

Three years of general experience must have been at a managerial capacity directing operations or the delivery of related treatment services.

Personal qualities:

Individual must have sufficient interpersonal skills in order to work closely with professional peers, vendors and other agencies. Must be able to demonstrate regulation during times of crisis.

Amount of travel and other special conditions or requirements:

Travel may be required in order to obtain job-related training

Work Schedule:

Required a minimum of 40-hour work week; Available for on-call and crisis situation.
