Job Description
The Staff Accountant will support Canam Buildings US, Inc. operations and finance teams by providing timely, accurate, and relevant financial information. This position will participate in the growth of the company and the implementation of the technology required to support the business.
Essential Functions
- Perform general accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close support;
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and submit required financial reporting to the parent company;
- Maintain, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts;
- Perform ad hoc analysis of financial results to answer management team’s questions;
- Support accounts payable and receivable personnel;
- Participate in review and improvement of accounting control procedures;
- Participate in implementation of new ERP system;
- Assist with annual audit and budget preparation;
- Assist in tax and regulatory reporting, as needed;
- Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance, or comparable experience;
- 2 years accounting experience;
- Knowledge of IFRS, applicable laws, and regulations;
- MS Excel skills required (or Google Workspace);
- Experience in construction industry preferred;
- Bilingual English/French would be an asset.
