What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Portrait Photographers & Assistants position at Candid Campus Photography, Inc.?
Established in 1973, Candid Campus Photography is a regional event photography company based in Gretna, Louisiana. Although headquartered just outside of New Orleans, they cover school events ranging all across the state of Louisiana, Mississippi, and as well as parts of Texas.
(PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME POSITION)
We are currently hiring seasonal/freelance part-time photographers and photographer assistants in the New Orleans, Northern Louisiana and Central Mississippi areas.
Event aspects vary throughout the seasons but oftentimes require early morning arrivals, evenings and weekends so these positions are ideal for candidates with a flexible schedule and looking for extra seasonal work
All candidates must be responsible, organized and detailed-orientated. Additionally, all candidates must work well in a team environment, possess good communication and social skills, have a professional attitude as well as a neat and professional appearance.
Photographers:
- Must have DSLR experience
- Must have reliable transportation
- Photographers are paid by the photo event, most events require a 4- to 10-hour commitment.
- Entry-level pay per grad fair event starts at $15 per hour and is based on the experience and proven abilities of the candidate.
- Entry-level pay per graduation event starts at $60-$100 and is based on the size of the event, the experience and proven abilities of the candidate. (Effective photographers pay range is equivalent to $20-$35/per hour.)
- There is an opportunity for regional travel with a $35 per night per diem.
- Qualifying mileage is reimbursable on a per event basis, and certain other expenses are covered by the company.
- This position requires photographers to be flexible, open to learning new workflows, adaptable in fast-paced settings, and willing to complete other event-related tasks as required to successfully get a job done.

Photographer Assistants:
- This is an ideal job for general freelancers, part-time workers looking for additional work, stay-at-home parents with free daytime schedules, in-between workers looking to explore another field, students or regular commuters with open schedules, or any qualified candidate looking to gain valuable training and experience in a professional position.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Photographer Assistants are paid by the photo job, and most events require a 6- to 10-hour commitment depending on the event.
- Entry-level pay range per event starts at $15/hour equivalent, and is based on the size of the event, the experience and proven abilities of the candidate.
- There are opportunities for paid regional travel with a per night per diem.
- Qualifying mileage is reimbursable on a per event basis, and certain other expenses are covered by the company.
- This position requires assistants that are helpful, friendly, open to learning, team-oriented, clear communicators, adaptable in fast-paced settings, and actively working to help photographers successfully execute events.
- On-the-job training is provided and required for every level of experience.
