IT Specialist

This position will be located on-site in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Only local candidates will be considered at this time.

Position Summary: The IT Specialist role is to ensure proper computer and server operations so that our internal customers can accomplish business tasks, which includes actively resolving escalated end-user help requests within established SLAs, problem resolution using diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as providing in-person, hands-on help at the desktop and server level.

Responsibilities: 

• Installs, programs, troubleshoots, conducts diagnosis, determines the best course of action, and resolves all technical hardware and/or software issues using different diagnostic techniques.
• Administers and manages all software updates and troubleshooting throughout the Polyglass enterprise (Server and End User support). 
• Analyzes weekly and month reporting to identify trends as well as conducts analysis for server and system issues; will determine next steps, create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the department and implement. 
• Responsible for being the sole resource to conduct all programming and implementation of Polyglass IT equipment (hardware and software) specifically those Senior Leaders who require a higher level of security and software accessibility due to proprietary needs.
• Writes scalable code using Python programming language for R&D, Production, and Engineering, based on each department’s requirements. 
• Provides 24/7 on-call support to all Polyglass employees and locations, while executing quick resolution and excellent customer service, as the first contact for internal customers.
• Installs, programs, the entire Polyglass/Mapei ‘s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. 
• Configures and supports email and other enterprise-wide applications, including creating new user accounts, closing out user accounts, troubleshooting end-user issues. 
• Diagnose, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary. 
• Approves and maintains technical documentation and service catalogs on installation of software, configuration of hardware, and problem troubleshooting.
• Records, tracks, and documents the service desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency using Microsoft 365 Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• CompTIA Network certification
• Minimum 3 years of experience using Python programming language.
• Demonstrate experience supporting Microsoft Windows environment, networking, printer, etc.
• Must be able to provide 24/7 on-call support. 
• Minimum of 15% travel required.   
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in all of the following: 
  • Network installations, configurations, and troubleshooting. 
  • SCCM.
  • DHCP, Printer Server, and Firewalls. 
• Cisco phone systems. 
• Desktop and server operating systems, including Microsoft 365. 
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
