What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDO Coordinator-Field position at Candidate Experience site?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate the dispatch and movement loads and drivers to meet the expected departure timelines within each service cycle. Highly focused on the optimization of line haul efficiencies to reduce miles and improve service.
2. Ensure on-time service goals are met by leading discussions with terminal operations teams to ensure understanding and compliance to the planning and movement of shipments and loads to outbound compliance standards.
3. Drive behavioral change amongst linehaul supervisors and terminal management across the network that leads to efficient dispatching decisions that support cost targets and on time service goals.
4. Generate and review metrics such as KPI reports to meet service and efficiency objectives.
5. Monitor and manage the positioning of drivers across the system to ensure proper utilization and load movements.
6. Ability to determine when to use proper intermodal and purchase transportation usage.
7. Review freight flow patterns and implement actions necessary to minimize empty or partially loaded miles (including positioning extra shipments).
8. Utilize data to develop and implement 1-3 day operating plan to keep the network fluid.
9. Monitor equipment availability and take action necessary to ensure proper placement of equipment to meet business levels.
10. Communicate with linehaul managers and terminal managers to best meet their freight movement needs.
11. Investigate shipment failures to determine future solutions to ensure future shipments will be serviced on-time.
12. Participate in daily meetings to communicate issues, deviations to the plans along with courses of action.
13. In-depth knowledge of network linehaul operations and the ability to effectively plan and manage all regions across the network.
14. Communicate company safety program, enforces safety rules and compliance with all government regulations.
15. Dispatch drivers and equipment to ensure efficient utilization and minimum delay time. Maintain communication and ensure employees have adequate knowledge and resources to accomplish assigned duties while promoting safe work processes.
16. Manage work assignment, monitor performance, and provide training on duties, policies and procedures.
17. Utilize work method programs for training and education to motivate employees to improve performance and quality of work.
18. Complete necessary paperwork/data entry accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient and steady flow of information.
19. Maintain knowledge of applicable collective bargaining agreements.
20. Interact with facility dock and yard operations, along with clerical employees to properly service customer shipments in a timely/cost effective fashion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Three (3) years related experience in the motor carrier industry and/ or with dispatch functions.
2. Excellent communication/leadership skills.
3. Ability to effectively communicate through both written and verbal communications
4. Effective training and coaching capabilities.
5. Utilization of basic Microsoft applications and software such as Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
6. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource principles, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
2. Experience in operations or linehaul.
3. Complete knowledge and understanding of network operations.
4. Experience working in logistics.
5. Knowledge of Hazmat and DOT regulations.
6. Knowledge of applicable collective bargaining and work rule agreements.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position requires the flexibility to work variable shifts including: 9, 10 and 12 hours shifts, nights, days, weekends and holidays as operational needs dictate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs. of supplies and materials is required.
