Candlewood Suites - Bluffton is currently looking for a full time maintenance employee. Applicants may submit resumes to this listing. Must be dependable, available to be on call in case of emergencies, self motivated, and have dependable transportation.

Must have experience in the following areas:

Sheetrock
Painting
Basic plumbing
Basic Electrical
Knowledge of PTAC and HVAC
Pool maintenance experience preferred
Preventive maintenance

Maintenance

Primary Objective

Oversee property maintenance of grounds, building facilities and guest rooms. Responsible for daily cleaning and upkeep, preventative maintenance, small repair and tasks, special projects, and communicating larger maintenance needs to the General Manager.

The duties and responsibilities listed below are not all inclusive and serve only as a guideline for this position. It is likely that you will be asked and required to perform reasonable duties and responsibilities that are not a part of this job description.

Duties and Responsibilities

• General Maintenance
• Order and install small maintenance items as needed for repair, under direction of General Manager/Assistant General Manager
• Complete repairs listed on work orders and maintain work orders as a record of work completed
• Track and record repairs
• Complete Maintenance Request Forms within 24 hours
• Complete Preventive Maintenance program on a timely basis
• Respond to maintenance emergencies timely, on a 24 hour call basis
• Schedule and ensure proper completion of work that may need to be accomplished by outside vendor; General Manager approval is necessary prior to using outside vendors
• Assist with carrying dishware items to rooms when requested
• Assist in mattress turning as necessary
• Maintains, replaces and rekeys both manual and electronic locks as needed, maintains accurate records of locks rekeyed
• Adjusts controls on mechanical systems to meet company standards
• Perform other such duties assigned by Property Management to meet guest or operational needs
• When Groundsman is not on staff, maintains cleanliness of building exterior, grounds, walkways, driveway, parking areas and stairways
• Clear trash and empty property trash containers daily
• Sweep and clean sidewalks and stairs as needed (trash and weather related)
• Clear debris from parking lot, landscaping and dumpster area daily
• Ensure exterior building and grounds are clean by use of a pressure washer and blower
• Common Guest Areas and Interior
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors and window trim as needed
• Provide Preventive Maintenance to 2 rooms each day
• Ensure Preventive Maintenance in following areas:
• Lighting
• Electrical circuits and wiring
• Plumbing
• HVAC
• Guest room walls
• Appliances
• Doors and locks
• Furniture
• Carpet (remove stains)
• Floor coverings
• Ensure Guest Laundry washers, dryers, vending machines and common areas are cleaned twice daily
• Maintain clean, organized maintenance workshop and storerooms
• Maintenance of Quality Standards
• Inspect guests’ rooms, public access areas and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance
• Ensure proper training programs and procedures are in place in conjunction with General Manager/Assistant General Manger according to system standards
• Comprehensive knowledge of brand services and amenities in order to accommodate guests’ needs
• Wears proper uniform at all times
• Safety and Sanitation
• Inspect the property and implement action to ensure safety from fire, injury, or illness due to unsafe or unsanitary conditions
• Responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures
• Practice safe chemical handling as directed in company policy
• Practice safe working conditions under Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines to include Bloodborne Pathogens
• Ensure fire safety equipment (fire alarm system, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.) are operational and that inspections are current, and forwards inspection reports to General Manager
