The Opportunity:
Based in Mobile, the Business Analyst is entrepreneurial and high performing, with expertise in collaborating with the business using insight-driven information to enhance margin and improve working capital. The Business Analyst will be an integral partner supporting the Canfor Southern Pine (CSP) Sales, Supply Chain and Transportation teams working towards their strategic, operational, and financial targets.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the business to identify, solution, measure and improve on key metrics that will enhance overall profitability
- Identifying trends and opportunities, and taking a role in cross-functional teams established to enhance business metrics
- Helping pull together the quarterly sales forecast (volume and value)
- Providing Operational Support to sales, supply chain and transportation:
- Ad-hoc analysis to support sales, planning and route optimization
- § Support for data-based negotiations
- § Exception reporting for actionable areas
- § Support for planning initiatives
- § Monthly reporting of margin initiatives
- Effectively communicating trends, summarizing results, and working with the business to embed strategic initiatives into the planning processes
- Support for growth of the in-house trucking company across the US including freight rate management
- Collaborating on key S&OP metrics (e.g., On-time shipments; demand accuracy, inventory turns, production plan attainment, etc.)
Requirements:
- Experience or education in business case analysis with strength in financial modeling and highly proficient in Excel
- Experience with Power BI
- Ability to collaborate, facilitate and be a part of cross-functional teams
- Proficient in communicating findings, options, recommendations, and risks
- Progressive leader and facilitator in a changing environment within the realm of business analytics
- Supporting the delivery of initiatives and programs that drive a high performing culture
- Demonstrated curiosity towards patterns, trends, and opportunities
- Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
- Ability to work independently - remote work
