Summary:

Assists with patron’s golf experience in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.

Understands the game of golf and becomes familiar with all products, services and prices of the golf course. Performs cash or credit transactions, reports procedures and Pro Shop paperwork by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must speak English
  • Must possess strong communications skills
  • Greets and registers all golf patrons.
  • Maintains and operates Point of Sale (POS) system for all transactions.
  • Collects the proper fees for greens fees, cart rentals, range fees, club rentals, merchandise sales and tournament entries.
  • Directs golfers to golf carts, first tee and Starter.
  • Enforces all course regulations.
  • Totals daily receipts and accurately prepares management reports as well as secures all cash is in the safe at the end of each shift.
  • Handles cash accurately and according to established procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to the Essential Job Functions listed above:

  • Opens Pro Shop for business at least 30 minutes before the first tee time.
  • Assures that the Pro Shop and surrounding area is neat and clean and that merchandise is well arranged and all areas of the shop and merchandise are free from dust, dirt and fingerprints.
  • Assures that sufficient quantities of all stationary, forms, office supplies, tees, scorecards, and pencils are in stock and ready for use.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.


Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various Point of Sale, word processing and spreadsheet software applications.


Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
