Job Description: Activity Aide
Location: Canton, OH, 44709
An activity aide is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as directed by the Activity Director.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for residents.
- Assist in the coordination of special events and outings.
- Assist in the preparation of materials and supplies needed for activities.
- Encourage resident participation in activities and events.
- Assist in the documentation of resident participation in activities.
- Assist in the maintenance of activity equipment and supplies.
- Assist in the development of new programs and activities.
- Assist in the orientation of new residents to the activity program.
- Assist in the training and supervision of volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with seniors preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
