About the Job:
As a leader of the payroll shared service teams, you will perform the America’s payroll processing functions. This includes the preparation, processing, verification, and reconciliation of payroll in ADP, including the funding for the different departments, while ensuring the integrity of the Firm's policies. You will be responsible for coordinating with the Finance and HR teams to process payroll for existing and new employees and manage employee benefits to ensure payroll deductions are processed accurately. This role also serves as an escalation and reference point for all regional stakeholders in relation to the end-to-end payroll process.
The Payroll Manager position requires strong professional and communication skills to liaise effectively and efficiently with the other contributing partners to payroll and safeguard highly confidential information.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Process bi-monthly payroll for all Americas based entities (US, Canada, and Brazil), approximately 2500 employees, using outside payroll vendor (ADP) as part of a team
- Receive and process payroll change information from Human Resource Operations team
- Audit information for completeness and take appropriate action where needed
- Accurately compute retroactive pay, partial pay and overpayments based on input data
- Transmit payroll data for bi-monthly payroll to ADP
- Manage corporate credit card program and liaise with provider to ensure accurate reporting and timely payments by Capco employees
- Assist the Controller’s and team with month end close processes within a short time frame monthly
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
- Document all payroll processes and maintain documentation for business continuity
- Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations
- Analyse workflow process and design and recommend process improvements
- Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
- Reconcile benefit provider invoices to ensure the accuracy of enrollments and contributions
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
- Manage annual audits of defined benefit and 401(k) plans and preparation of Forms 5500
- Work with Controller to provide Audit support on monthly basis
What You’ll Bring with You:
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting
- 10 years of payroll experience with at least 3 years’ experience as a Payroll Manager
- Prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Office and proficiency in Excel
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Experience with large, automated accounting systems, preferably with PeopleSoft
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with all levels and be a team player
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Prior experience working and processing payroll with ADP a plus
- Experience working in a professional services firm is preferred
