Position: IT Specialist
Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Overview: Troubleshoot any computer or server issues. Implement and maintain new software and hardware, maintain excellent working relationships with all departments, create and implement creative solutions to issues for all IT equipment, networks and servers at Cape Resorts. Other projects as assigned to ensure the smooth function of the entire office and individual properties.
These duties may be described as, but not limited to:
- Manage and maintain all office equipment, including copier, telephones, etc. Assist office staff in using equipment if necessary.
- Oversee and maintain the following list of technology scattered through all properties: Property Management Systems, Point of Sale, Networking, Firewalls, Switching, Wi-Fi systems, Phone (Guest and Administrative), Camera systems, Remote Management, Cybersecurity, TV, Internet, etc.
- Field all calls from Cape Resorts for IT Support.
- Troubleshoot and implement solutions for problems with any PC, printer, and server within the network.
- Maintain backups of all systems.
- Resolve issues that are sent to our Ticketing system.
- Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
- Routine maintenance of all computer systems, servers, PCs, printers, etc.
- Stay up to date on all system, server, PC, printer upgrades. Ensure that all users are receiving the necessary upgrades.
- Preform daily checks of server health and resources used.
- Maintain network servers such as database and file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be proficient in Windows 10, MacOS, Server 2012/2019 R2, Office 365, and Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). Certification Preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of networking in Windows and MacOS environment.
- Must have working knowledge of HP and Xerox printers.
- Must possess good typing skills.
- Must possess exceptional organizational skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects daily.
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day. Walking and standing are occasionally required. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree certifications preferred.
- Continuing education in the field of IT helpful.
- Must have at least two years’ experience in a similar office situation.
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per company standards.
