Role: The Applications Engineer provides financial services of superior quality and convenience through managing the OS and application layer of CapEd's digital infrastructure. This position is also responsible for configuring and maintaining all automation processes. The Application Engineer will provide tier II support and training to Credit Union employees in the use of office automation products, personal computers, online application systems, user-based peripherals, etc.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures, administers, and optimizes a variety of servers to maximize uptime and efficiency for Credit Union staff. Recommends and configures automation processes.
- Will be second tier support in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of PCs, printers, terminals, etc.; coordinate with technical support and vendors as necessary; coordinate with other M.I.S. staff to resolve hardware, software, and network problems. Create thorough documentation of issues. Provide ongoing support to all Credit Union staff in the use of end-user hardware and software products.
- Manages the company's CORE systems and operating system software to provide a reliable and efficient computing environment.
- Maintains clear channels of communication with supervisor and other staff at all times to facilitate efficient working environment.
- Responsible for installing end-user hardware and software; ensuring Credit Union employees know how to care for and maintain their terminals, printers, and PCs and understand procedures for data backup, network access, etc.
- Ensures administrative control over the end-user hardware and software assets of the Credit Union, as well as related supplies and accessories, through maintenance of inventories, files, and logs.
- Contributes to efficient Credit Union operations by performing other job related duties as assigned.
- Maintains knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, and promotions.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes and/or seasonal brightness through windows. This position may involve periodic stressful conditions. The Credit Union's business days are Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; however, this position may occasionally require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and to include evening/weekend hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
