Role: The HR Generalist/People Solutions Partner provides services of superior quality and convenience through providing a broad range of human resources services and consulting which will include recruiting, full life cycle talent management, benefits and leave, compensation analysis, employee relations, program management, and analytical reporting.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Executes and maintains recruiting framework for the Credit Union. Manages the employment process by efficiently and effectively recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. Collaborates with leaders to develop, execute, and follow up to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting. Build networks to create a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Provides guidance and implementation assistance of HR policies, practices and strategies through relationship building, communication and intentional operating rhythms. Provide counsel to management and employees regarding policies and performance in alignment with the Credit Union's policies in a fair and consistent manner. Collaborate with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures. Champions and implements HR initiatives and best practices. Provide visible HR presence where our employees work to enable real time engagement and solutions.
- Executes, performs, and provides support and administration across a wide range of human resource functions including but not limited to benefits and leave, payroll, performance and talent management, compensation and salary administration, total rewards and recognition, employee relations, and reporting. May conduct communication and/or training for company-wide initiatives or benefit plan changes. Contribute to the development of a culture of equity, diversity & inclusion.
- Stays up to date and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Analyze and respond to unemployment claims.
- Leads performance management processes to ensure effective and timely delivery of monthly coaching and 90 Day Introductory/Annual Reviews. Partners on day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Identify and act upon coaching opportunities with managers to build leadership capability.
- Support leaders in addressing and communicating employee performance issues and in developing performance improvement plans when necessary. Provide high-quality advice and support on daily employee relations issues, including but not limited to; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, engagement, and morale. Reviews and approves formal performance documentation. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Fully leverages data and predictive people analytics to drive insights that support the Credit Union. Utilize HR metrics and people data to drive solutions based on trends and understand effectiveness of support provided.
- Collaborates with other areas to develop, implement and communicate HR plans, programs and services. Partners with centers of excellence and HR business partners to design programs that enable business areas to meet their goals.
- Assist in updating and maintaining organizational data charts and detailed job descriptions.
- Assist on special projects as requested.
- Maintains knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, and promotions.
- Contributes to efficient Credit Union operations by performing other job related duties as assigned.
Experience: Three years to five years of HR Generalist experience or related HR experience.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Professional in Human Resources: (PHR or SHRM-CP) certification preferred.

- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills including the ability to answer questions and convey information effectively with all levels of employees and job seekers while maintaining good working relationships clearly and concisely.
- Thorough knowledge of HR and employment-related laws and regulations (Ada, FMLA, EEO, etc.) with an understanding of legal compliance requirements systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Has the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, adapt to changes in the work environment, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Proven record of maintaining professionalism and confidentiality with proprietary and sensitive HR information.
- Must be able to work independently and have strong organization and prioritization skills necessary to operate in effectively in fast-paced environment, including managing multiple projects, meeting concurrent deadlines, managing time and priorities. Ability to prioritize, respond, or delegate effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints while maintaining attention to detail
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, payroll, benefit administration, employee relations, diversity, and performance management. Knowledge of various human resources principles and procedures for recruitment, training, employee relations, compliance, on-boarding and termination procedures.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes and/or seasonal brightness through windows. This position may involve periodic stressful conditions. The Credit Union's business days are Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; however, this position may occasionally require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and to include evening/weekend hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
