As Data Scientist in Advanced Analytics, you will have the opportunity to:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assemble, analyze, and interpret large data collected from multiple sources including phone calls, website, email, and surveys to measure student ROI.
- Build Machine Learning (ML) models leveraging the latest algorithms in Google Cloud Platform to predict conversion likelihood, faculty performance, student/learner success and/or persistence.
- Develop Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to evaluate student readiness, conduct sentiment analyses to better understand student/learner’s delights and pain points.
- Identify opportunities across the organization and leverage predictive analytics to optimize business performance and reduce inefficiencies.
- Communicate model results, analysis outcomes and implications in a variety of formats (e.g., Power BI dashboards, Excel spreadsheet, Power Point presentations) and to different audience within SEI.
Work Experience:
- Proficient in SQL and at least one of the following programming languages (Python or R).
- From a regionally accredited institution, Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Econometrics required, Masters and above preferred.
- 1-2 years’ hands-on experience developing predictive models and conducting statistical analyses.
- Knowledge of machine learning is required.
- Creative thinker and problem-solver who can effectively collaborate across teams and functions.
- Ability to summarize and present information that provides insights and interest.
Education:
- Bachelors degree required.
Other:
- Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%).
- Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
