Primary Responsibilities:
Incident response:
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, collaborating with development and IT teams to minimize downtime and maintain service quality.
- Triage incoming tickets from ServiceNow and requests that are assigned in the Cloud Engineering Jira to determine the best course of action (e.g., escalate to Tier 2, resolve directly, or request more information).
Collaboration and communication:
- Collaborate with internal teams (Data Engineering, Compute Engineering, Network Engineering) to provide support and answer questions.
- Serve as the first point of contact for development teams when they need assistance with troubleshooting or have questions about AWS services.
Cloud infrastructure management:
- Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
Resource provisioning:
- Allocate and manage cloud resources such as compute, storage, and networking to meet the needs of applications and services.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
- Participate in Plan, Do, Check, and Act cycles with all Cloud Operations Tiers to drive incremental platform improvements.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC) e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner - Essentials
- Previous experience with cloud compute and centralized networking, VPC subnetting, routing, and security groups/NACL.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow ticket management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Average Handle Time (AHT) for incidents
- Satisfaction ratings from development teams regarding the quality of support provided
- Percentage of issues resolved directly by Tier 1 engineers without escalation
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $43.92/hour - $68.62/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
