What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interposer Layout Designer position at capgemini?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Overview:
As an Interposer Layout Designer, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing interposer layouts for photonic and electronic integrated circuits.
Your work will contribute to realize scalable, high-bandwidth, energy-sustainable, and cost-effective solutions that enable the next generation of AI, ML, and simulation hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interposer Layout Design: Create and refine layouts for semiconductor interposers, which serve as a bridge between different integrated circuit components or packages.
- CAD Tools: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys IC Compiler, Solidworks or similar tools, to design interposer layouts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, semiconductor designers, and project teams to understand design requirements and ensure that the layouts meet performance, power, and thermal requirements.
- Design Optimization: Optimize layouts for efficient use of space, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
- Layout Verification: Conduct layout verification processes, including design rule checks (DRC) and layout vs. schematic (LVS) checks to ensure that designs are free of errors.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of the design process, design decisions, and any changes made to the layout.
- Quality Assurance: Perform simulations and analyses to validate the design's functionality and performance.
- Manufacturability: Collaborate with fabrication vendors to ensure that the interposer layouts can be effectively produced.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD tools, particularly those used for semiconductor layout design.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for semiconductor layout design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal management principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 2.5D and 3D IC design and packaging.
- Familiarity with Photonic Integrated Circuits
- Understanding of semiconductor design principles, semiconductor fabrication processes, and cleanroom practices
- Understanding of electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS) for high-frequency applications.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for design automation and process improvement."
