What You-ll Do as a Release Manager
- Plan each release window and cyclefor a given application or set of applications while collaborating with Delivery Teams,DevOps, QA, and Platform Engineering to ensure that all of application -sresponsibilities for a release are met prior to release of updates.
- Workextensively on Microsoft Azure Platform supporting applications as pertheir needs using Boards, Repos and Pipelines.
- Conduct release readiness reviews,retrospective calls and evaluate cycles across the Portfolio, managing andresolving issues that affect scope, schedule and quality. Measure andmonitor progress for the same to ensure application releases are deliveredon time and within budget.
- Workwith dev teams to understand impacts of branches and code merges so as tomanage version control of code and branching strategies across multipleenvironments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod, etc.)
- Conduct research on leadingrelease management practices, tools and technologies to justifyrecommendations and provide continuous improvement enhancements withrecommendations to the existing release and change management processes.
- Work on Issue tracking andticketing tools like Service Now, Azure DevOps, Jira while performing riskmanagement and resolution of issues impacting scope, schedule, andquality.
- Manage the impact that a givenchange or bundle of changes entering the production environment has onassociated stakeholders thereby managing and mitigating Risk.
Minimum education qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field.
The ideal candidate will have the following technical skills:
- Well versed in DevOps concepts(CI/CD, Pipelines, Source control etc.).
- Advancedknowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Experienceleveraging issue tracking software such as Service Now and JIRA.
- Advancedknowledge of Cloud computing tools and technologies.
- Experience and knowledge ofITIL concepts and best practices in the IT service Industry.
- Hands-on experience and ability to work on MicrosoftAzure suite and its integration with other release management software
