Child Life Specialist - Part-time*HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE EXPERIENCE HIGHLY PREFEREED*

Hours: Monday - Friday - 9:00am-2:00pm
GENERAL DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Child Life Specialist works under the Director of Family Services and in conjunction with Director of Children’s Program to design, implement, and administer a program consisting of clinical counseling and expressive therapies to hospice patients, families, and the community across the Capital Caring Health service area.
Experience RequirementsMust have five years of related pediatric/child therapy experience; previous experience with individuals with life-limiting illness is required. Extensive knowledge of death/dying and clinical experience with grief and loss in counseling role is preferred.
Education RequirementsMust have a Bachelors degree in Human Services, Therapy, Communications, or related field. Graduate coursework in pediatric death/dying/bereavement is required.
Required Certificates and/or Licenses Must have licensure, or a board certification required in clinical specialty to include one or more of the following: art, play, music or other related expressive therapy. Certifications in child and adolescent grief counseling must be pursued and attained within two years of employment. The Child and Family Clinical Service Specialist must also pursue, on an ongoing basis, continuing education credits in pediatric palliative and hospice end of life education (ELNEC) and expressive therapies through pre-approved certifying organization.
Salary : $63,900 - $81,000
