Capital Claims Management ("CCM") is a boutique insurance claims adjusting firm providing claims handling, defense, and program management services to insurance carriers.

What Is The Opportunity?

In this role, you will primarily handle third-party claims involving Professional Liability (E&O) and Commercial General Liability insurance. In this role that will consist of a mix of non-litigated, litigated, and CGL claims.

As a Claims Adjuster II, you will handle a reasonable caseload of claims, investigating and determining coverage and liability. Of course, engaging appropriately with all relevant parties regularly; accurately and efficiently resolving claims with oversight. You will provide coverage and liability determination letters, assign and manage defense counsel working towards the soonest possible resolution of the claim.

What Will You Do?

  • Interview and correspond with insureds, claimants, and other parties to complete liability investigations and resolve claims.
  • Draft coverage and liability position letters based on evidence, information obtained, contractual agreements, and lawful expectations.
  • Approve payment of claims within a specific monetary limit.
  • Guide negotiations, legal actions, and settlement of losses.
  • Manage defense counsel on litigated cases and help minimize legal expenses.
  • Comply to carrier’s best practices and CCM procedures.

What Does Our Ideal Candidate Look Like?

  • 5 years of previous claims adjusting experience
  • 3 years of litigation experience actively managing defense counsel and all associated legal expenses.
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience authoring coverage and liability determination letters.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented with time management skills and executive functioning skills.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Professional Liability (Errors and Omissions) and Commercial General Liability claims.
  • Experience with claims-made policies preferred.
  • General knowledge of residential construction and home inspections is a plus.
