SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)
Greets patients and facilitate patient check-in and provides positive and courteous patient support.
Minimum Requirements
Education:High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience:Bilingual with one year customer service experience. Insurance knowledge a plus. Data entry, medical terminology and healthcare business office experience helpful.
Other Credentials
Knowledge and Skills:Effective communication skills, including strong listening ability; diplomatic skills; exceptional customer service skills. Able to communicate clearly in English. Possesses organizational skills and ability to prioritize work, acts independently. Utilizes problem-solving skills.
Special Training:Proficient typing/keyboarding skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Facilitates the check in line by directing patients to the check-in kiosk station, or to the appropriate location.
- Enhances patient satisfaction by promptly and courteously assisting patients with the outpatient check-in process. Physically enters patient demographic information at the kiosk for patients in need of a language interpreter or any type of physical limitation.
- Responds to any insurance questions and concerns.
- Facilitates an atmosphere that is supportive and efficient by answering questions effectively and confidently.
- Communicates any patient registration issues with Health Access Lead to help eliminate wait times.
- Communicates effectively and ensures that inquires and requests are addressed in a friendly responsive and timely manner.
- Oversees lobby and surrounding area ensuring patients are being assisted as they enter. Anticipates needs of patients and guests and takes proactive measures to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Utilizes service recovery skills as appropriate in problem solving situations.
- Presents a professional image at all times.
- Maintains a moderate noise level in the department's area.
