Loan Operations team members support critical processes and transactions and take primary responsibility for administering the loan servicing system, McCracken Strategy. Our ideal candidate will display a strong balance of analytical and problem-solving skills, thorough attention to detail, communication competencies, and an interest in working with the loan servicing software. You’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with the various Servicing teams, Asset Management, Closing, and other Agency Finance partners; contribute to department and team process improvements; and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
The Agency Finance Servicing team supports a total loan portfolio of $50BN and provides ongoing support for the life of each loan. The organization focuses on delivering scale and efficiency, mitigating operational risk, providing a smooth customer experience, and enabling talented associates to excel.
Responsibilities of a Loan Operations team member include, but are not limited to:
- Perform critical loan- and investor-level loan maintenance in the loan servicing system, such as payoffs, defeasances, customer auto-debits, and investor transfers tied to ongoing loan sales and securitizations.
- Analyze system exception reports, partner with internal stakeholders to resolve outages, and complete related system maintenance with a high degree of accuracy.
- Update indexes that fall outside of the automated Bloomberg feed and facilitate changes to index uploads as required by the GSEs or market conditions.
- Manage payment of post-closing fees to attorneys, investors, and third parties; evaluate documentation to ensure information is complete and required signatures are included.
- Initiate and support internal reporting and metrics tracking, including tracking project performance and remediation activity.
- Review and analyze loan documents to ensure accurate loan data.
- Collaborate with the loan servicing system vendor regarding system issues, version upgrades, and modifications or enhancements.
- Participate in planning, testing, and implementing projects aimed to streamline and/or automate manual tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service to Borrowers, Investor contacts, attorneys, auditors, and internal partners.
- Incorporate Capital One’s values into daily tasks and assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
- At least 2 years experience with Microsoft Office or G Suite
- At least 2 years of experience with Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in Finance or Accounting (or another related field)
- 1 year of Commercial Banking and/or Commercial Loan Operations experience
- 1 year of experience with McCracken Strategy
- 1 year of experience with Government Agencies, specifically Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae
- SQL experience
