The Associate Experience Technology Team is a fast-paced and passionate organization that is responsible for transforming the Associate Experience across Capital One. We design and deliver software solutions across a diverse technology landscape that consists of enterprise SaaS applications, OS Platforms, Web and Mobile applications and custom built enterprise solutions.
The Director, Software Engineering, for Associate Collaboration platforms is a critical leadership role that will influence the digital experience for all associates enterprise wide. As a Director, you will lead a team of platform engineers and software engineers to research the needs of the associate base, deliver innovative solutions and product transformation at an enterprise scale enabling productivity and efficiency for our associates.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $269,400 - $307,500 for Director, Software Engineering
San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $285,400 - $325,700 for Director, Software Engineering
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.

Responsibilities:
- Establish strategic direction for Collaboration Platform products.
- Partner cross-functionally with architecture, product owners, SaaS vendors, platform engineers and software engineers to develop roadmap and drive implementation of new features to augment digital experience for collaboration for all associates.
- Assess emerging technologies to determine where they fill gaps, overlap with existing solutions or extend capabilities. Influence roadmaps of SaaS products.
- Conduct architecture, design and code review to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
- Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead talent to be their best.
- Leverage complex technical acumen and product engineering expertise to drive innovation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 5 years of people leadership experience
- At least 7 years of experience in software development
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 5 years experience in managing enterprise platforms (enterprise productivity platforms, digital platforms, or SaaS platforms)
- 3 years of experience managing enterprise slack platforms or Google Workspace
- 3 years of experience working in Amazon Web Services
- 5 years experience with software development in microservices, distributed applications development, and, user interface design
