Job Description - Non-Exempt
Position Title: Security Officer
Reports To: Security Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Purpose
The Security Officer maintains the security and safety of all team members and guests.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsibilities listed may not apply to all locations
- Maintains security of all areas of the property
- Is familiar with all team members
- Is familiar with all alarm systems
- Maintains and knows emergency procedures and all responding agencies
- Completes and files all necessary reports
- Maintains log, keeping it up-to-date and accurate
- Responds to all emergencies and reports to the General Manager
- Reports any maintenance issues to General Manager
- Maintains knowledge of check-in/out procedures
- Maintains professionalism at all times
- Approaches all situations with care and requests backup if the situation is questionable
- All other duties as requested
General Statement - Performs the job assigned, complying with Company policies and procedures, business code of ethics, FLSA regulations, and all applicable laws, as well as ensuring confidentiality, reliability, quality, and productivity.
Job Requirements
Education, Essential Training / Certifications, and Experience:
- High School diploma/ GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Have and maintain a good driving record clear of significant violations
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Presents a calm and professional demeanor at all times
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrates alertness and attentiveness
- Strong ethical and moral values
- Flexible schedule; weekends and holidays are required
