Job Title: Statistician Investigator
Location: Chapel Hill, NC 27516
Duration: 6 Months
Job Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite/2 days remote)
Shift: 8am - 5pm, M-F
Position Summary
We are looking for a data analyst/statistician at or above the master s degree level, to work in a collaborative team of investigators and perform statistical analyses to gain new discoveries to help trauma survivors.
The primary focus of the position will be to assist with analyses of diverse longitudinal data collected as part of the ~ million dollar AURORA study.
This study, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and private and foundation partners, enrolled individuals presenting to a large network of emergency Customer in the immediate aftermath of trauma. Study participants were followed longitudinally for one year, beginning in the hours after trauma, using sophisticated adaptive sampling methods and state-of-the-art battery of self-report, neurocognitive, physiologic, digital phenotype, psychosocial, neuroimaging, and genomic markers. In addition to analyses of these data, the statistician will also analyze data from longitudinal data collected as part of many other past and current R01 studies going on in the institute, as well as the analysis of clinical trial data.
Required Qualifications, Competencies And Experience
Strong organizational skills. Must be able to analyze diverse longitudinal data collected as part of research studies.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Ideal candidates would have experience with Mplus or R software packages; and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. Prior experience performing structural equation modeling is preferred, as is experience in clinical or epidemiological research.
Minimum of a relevant Master s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) preferred. Ideal candidates will have a PhD in a social, applied, or related science discipline, demonstrated ability as a scientific writer, demonstrated ability to perform advanced statistical analyses and learn and perform statistical analyses new to them, expert knowledge of R and other software packages; and the ability to collaborate effectively on multidisciplinary teams. Master s degree with extensive experience will be considered.
