Overview
CAPTRUST is offering paid Institutional Investment internship in our Phoenix, AZ office that will provide exposure to the inner-workings of an investment firm, specifically related to investment research. Hands-on learning starts day one in this fast-paced environment. Interns will be able to apply academic concepts while learning industry specific practices for managing large investment portfolios. There are frequent opportunities to work under firm partners, and alongside members of the investment team. The intern will also become familiar with industry relevant software, such as Morningstar Direct, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel techniques.
CAPTRUST interns must maintain professional and ethical standards, be well organized, service oriented, and capable of performing under tight deadlines. Obtaining course credit may also be possible, depending on the student’s program approval. Hours will be flexible based on school schedule. Term of internship is 1 semester. Completion of an internship may lead to, but does not guarantee, potential for extensions or future full-time employment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in research efforts regarding investments and prospective investments
- Attend and participate in meetings with the investment team, including prospective managers, external investment managers and external investment consultants
- Maintain and update financial models and databases
- Assist with strategic asset allocation modeling and investment management selection
- Assist in preparing fund reports and investment performance reports
- Assist on special projects (internal projects/client specific/data input)
- Support the client services and administrative teams as needed/requested
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing Undergraduate/Graduate degree; rising Junior or Senior
- All School of Business Majors (Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred)
- Significant interest in the workings of individual taxation and wealth management

- Strong critical thinker who is a strong self-starter
- High-level Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask with proven ability to plan and achieve results
- Demonstrate highest personal ethics and integrity
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of information
- Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
