What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper position at Car Craft Auto Body?
The company will rely on you for having accurate and updated data that is easily accessible through Excel, Sage accounting and POS/management software.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts receivable and payable by creating & managing spreadsheets, providing accurate invoices, ensure that vendors are billed and billing properly.
- Track and monitor financial transactions & integrating the data into the accounting software on a daily basis.
- Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes.
- Verify and audit data by comparing it to source documents
- Create and manage financial reports for the company, providing a clear overview of transactions.
- Retrieve data from the accounting system and POS/management software as needed.
- Create reporting with data provided
- Process and review payments
- Maintenance of document filing system.
- Handle bank reconciliations
- Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.
- Organize, prioritize, and manage tasks as well as work areas to effectively perform job function
- Create and maintain standard operating procedure manual for daily, weekly and monthly tasks
- Clerical functions such as scanning documents and organizing filing systems in place.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the accounting field
- Bookkeeping knowledge
- Advanced mathematical skills
- Fast, accurate typing skills (50 wpm); Familiarity of 10 key (10,000 kph) is strongly preferred
- Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
- Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
- Good command of English both oral and written
- Quality customer service skills
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to support team with cross-functional skills
- Ability to work, review and interpret data independently

- Ability to work efficiently within deadlines
- Possess high school degree or equivalent
