Speech Therapist
St. Patrick's Home is a Faith-Based facility located in the northwest section of the Bronx, bordering scenic Van Cortlandt Park. Sharing in the Ministry of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm since 1931, the dedicated staff provides Long and Short-term Care to the elderly, meeting the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the residents as a part of the St. Patrick's family, where "The Difference is Love."
We are looking for a Speech Therapist - Part-Time.

Speech Therapist Introduction:
The Speech Therapist is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the speech pathology program.
Speech Therapist Job Summary:
- Design and employ a Speech Therapy program suitable to the needs of the resident population
- Upon written prescription of a physician, evaluate residents and prepare a Speech Therapy Treatment Plan.
- Report to physiatrist and resident’s physician concerning evaluation findings and rehabilitation potential.
- Provide follow-up Speech Pathology procedures.
- Consult with persons concerned with resident’s care regarding techniques to promote optimal use of rehab gains.
- Advise Director of Rehabilitation of supplies, materials, and equipment necessary.
- Attend appropriate meetings when requested or report to the Director of Rehabilitation.
- Prepares monthly statistical reports for the Director of Rehabilitation.
- Participates in the Minimum Data Set Assessment Process as scheduled.

Speech Therapist Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy from an Accredited College or University.

Proof of COVID19 Vaccination Required.
- Licensed and in good standing in the State of New York and current registration as a Therapist.
- Must be a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association.
- One year of clinical experience in Long Term Care preferred.
- Should have continuing education in Swallowing Assessment and Treatment.
