JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Nurse provides support to skilled nursing facilities as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and to achieve compliance with company policies and procedures, State and Federal regulations and clinical standards of practice. Promotes the Company’s core values of respect, integrity, commitment, and trust.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides orientation and training to facility management including Administrators and Directors of Nursing, on company skilled nursing policies and procedures, State and Federal regulations.
- Assists with the development and revision of clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with State/ Federal regulations and current standards of practice.
- Assesses facility compliance with company policies/procedures and State/ Federal regulations. Provides education, system implementation and monitoring, and development of performance improvement plans in conjunction with Administrators and Directors of Nursing to promote positive resident outcomes.
- Assists with training licensed nurses and nursing assistants as requested by the facility on company skilled nursing policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations.
- Provides support as needed through the survey process including assistance with preparation for survey, writing the plan of correction, developing an action plan, and monitoring for compliance.
- Serve as spokesperson for nursing matters and represents the facilities with professional nursing and related organizations
- Participate in appropriate meetings and committees
- Promote positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guests
- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations
- Use appropriate workplace behavior and adhere to dress code at all times
- Understand and adhere to the guidelines of “Residents Rights” and assure resident safety
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Current RN license
- CPR certified required; 30 days will be given to complete a course and get certified
- Ability to understand, remember and carry out verbal or written instructions in English
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
- Ability to work flexibly and positively with intermittent interruptions
Preferred
- 5 years nurse management experience in long term care/skilled nursing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
WORK SCHEDULE: As assigned, including some weekends, holidays and evening; on call 24 hours
