Maintenance - Lead

Position Summary:

Responsible for the mechanical and cosmetic maintenance of the building and equipment to ensure that production operates in an environment conducive to maximum efficiency while ensuring employee safety and protection of company assets.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Three to five years previous maintenance experience required. Two-year Technical degree preferred. Experience with Lotus Notes, Internet, SFA, Word, Excel is preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to lift 75 pounds and must be physically and medically capable of wearing ½ face respirator, dust mask and other personal protective equipment. Must have 20/20 vision, with or without correction, including full peripheral vision.

Skills Needed:

1. Computer and organizational skills. Will be responsible for developing preventative maintenance program, and record keeping using online CMMS system

2. Basic Electrical knowledge to be able to diagnose, understand, to make minor repairs and be able to communicate/manage outside contractors.

3. Strong mechanical skills.

4. Basic metal fabrication skill.

Essential Functions:

1. Oversees onsite facility construction or repairs by outside contractors, such as plumbing, electrical or HVAC.

2. Personally performs, or manages outside contractors, installations of equipment, repairs of equipment and modifications to equipment to support manufacturing and distribution activities at the site.

3. Responsible for the development, execution, and tracking of preventive maintenance procedures/activities in a CMMS system following O.E.M. specifications and recommendations/best practices. Creates, modifies, and prioritizes procedures as the need arises.

4. Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, building and building components.

· Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on electrical motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

· Works with the plant staff to forecast future maintenance tasks ensuring the availability of materials and supplies to prevent scheduled tasks from being delayed.

· Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems.

· Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

· Sources, Purchases or Fabricates repair parts.

· Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

· Works within budget and provides input to Operations Manager for annual budget planning.

· Provides backup and support for production when needed and time permits.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Take an active role in hazard recognition and injury prevention by following all safety rules & regulations and report all injuries and incidents to your supervisor.

· Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner.
