Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Box Truck Driver (Non-CDL) to join our team. As a Box Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently driving to various locations in Carlsbad and the surrounding area to retrieve & replace shred carts, Gaylord boxes, and bulk shred for document destruction with the assistance of a single individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, youll have some responsibilities within the warehouse such as forklift operations, material movement, and general clean-up.
What Youll Do:
- Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
- Must be willing to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of goods, pedestrians, and other vehicles on the road.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any other required documentation.
- Resolve any customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding vehicle operation, safety, and security
- Operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jacks and other material movement devices.
- Must be physically able to evacuate clients in the event of an emergency, or intervene in the event of physical conflict.
- Ensure the general cleanliness and safety of the warehouse and CARC property.
What Gets You To The Top of The Hiring List:
- Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, ability to meet insurance provider approval.
- Must have experience driving a box truck or other large commercial vehicles, prefer three years minimum experience.
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions, preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job including lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading items, bending, stooping, or twisting. The ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis is required.
