Accounting Associate

Job Description: CARD Companies is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our team. The Accounting Associate will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations by performing various accounting and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Complete data entry to assist in job costing for both J&W Asphalt and Hamill Concrete.
• Compile data from completed jobs and enter the data into a spreadsheet.
• Organize and present data that is gathered post job completion.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
• Invoice jobs accurately and efficiently for both J&W Asphalt and Hamill Concrete.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by entering data into the accounting system.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with special projects and other ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience with payroll processing is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
