Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer

Cardinal Peak is seeking a talented Senior Hardware Engineer with at least 5 years electronics hardware design experience. You will collaborate directly with our partners and developers to drive new hardware products and architectures to enable our customers’ market success.  This can range from the next generation of connected IoT devices to the future of professional audio and video recording.

This will be a full time W2 or 1099 hire. Ideally located in the Boulder/Denver CO area and long term remote work is negotiable.

Responsibilities:

- Design/evaluate system hardware architectures that can meet customer product requirements.

- Board level design of ARM Cortex A and M class processors systems.

- Board level design of power supplies (DC/DC converters, low noise analog power supplies, Power over Ethernet).

- Create documentation to support PCB layout, component purchasing, product manufacturing, and manufacturing test.

- Bring-up, debug, and verify hardware subsystems.  Work with software engineers to debug and verify product features

- Program Microcontrollers and embedded processors in C.

Experience Required:

- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

- 5 years electronics hardware design experience including component selection, schematic entry, PCB layout (or managing PCB layout), manufacturing support, and hardware debug/verification.

- High speed digital design experience. Preferably with FPGA (Verilog or VHDL), DDR2 SDRAM, and serial interfaces such as PCIe, LVDS, USB, GigE, etc.

- Strong knowledge of embedded systems architectures, including multi-core SoC systems integration and ARM cores.

- Embedded Software Development

- Strong oral and written communication skills.
