SMT Operator

Summary

This SMT Operator within the Production Department is self-motivated; responsible for performing the correct selection of components for the creation, assembly and testing of electronic components and products.

Essential Functions

• Assembles electronic components, units, and printed circuit boards following predetermined methods and specifications.
• Adjust, repairs, and modifies various component, working from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Repairs and/or replaces malfunctioning components as directed.
• Solders/de-solder components as required.
• Setup, operate, maintain & breakdown of the wave solder machine.
• Setup, operate & maintain the SMT pick-n-place, stencil machine and reflow oven.
• Perform all operating preventive maintenance on all required machines as required.
• Other duties as requested.

Required Education and Experience

• One or more years of electronics/technical experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of circuit boards, components, and assemblies.
• Ability to solder/de-solder parts and components.
• Proficient in reading electronics schematics.
• General PC/Computer skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate degree or trade school experience in electronics is a plus.
• Excellent work ethic including good attendance.
• Willing and able to work irregular hours, weekends as needed, and overtime.
• Ability to multitask with a high attention to detail.
