Comptroller Duties and Responsibilities
The Comptroller will perform a number of important duties at Cardinal Spellman High School. Their overall responsibility is the smooth running of the school from a financial perspective. This means making sure there are strategies and controls in place to keep the school in good fiscal health, as well as making sure each employee involved in the Finance Office performs to those standards. The Comptroller is also responsible for conducting internal control audits to be sure the school is in compliance with legal and ethical business practices.
Other responsibilities include:
Process bi-weekly payroll for 100 employees via Paychex.
Maintain employee files and records. Update all salary increases and stipends.
Serve as point person on employee benefits: mange benefits records and be person in Administration that employees can contact concerning benefits questions.
Maintain student records including outsides scholarship and financial aid awards.
Supervise Accounts Payable staff.
Manage petty cash disbursements.
Prepare support schedules for financial statements and work with auditors during the audit process.
Maintain records of annual COI and Whistleblower statements by Board members, Administrators, teachers, and all other full-time employees.
Maintain expense reports for all administrators trips, events and meals expenditures and calculate the ROI on Advancement expenditures linked to specific fund raising objective.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
