Essential Functions:
Quality
- Create a system to keep SOP’s up-to-date, accurate, and available for production staff
- Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made
- Actively participate in production meetings with the manufacturing team
- Follow products through entirety of process to ensure each step is executed correctly, from sales to shipping
- Complete root cause analyses and follow-up communications when product failures occur
- Monitor the production process in each department by doing frequent Quality Control checks
- Partner with production to create and implement changes to improve current processes and reduce costs
- Create and maintain a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints.
- Implement performance measurements necessary to evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Use results of performance evaluations to target improvement efforts.
- Assess supplier capabilities and monitor supplier quality to ensure desired levels of performance.
- Compile monthly quality data and reports for the Plant Manager and Plant Superintendent
- Partners with production staff to discuss and implement solutions to quality issues
- Satisfy expectations with regard to product quality by partnering and communicating with our customers
- Partner with production, sales, and customer service staff to create production plans for new products to guarantee quality from stage one
- Audit materials provided by suppliers to assure quality before incorporation into our product
- Assess product quality by testing for a range of features and determine how the product performs under stresses like impact, temperature, humidity, etc.
- Investigate causes of quality problems and propose solutions
- Utilize knowledge of glass to diagnose problems
- Visit customers/job sites as needed and requested
- Determine validity of credit requests
Training
- Partners with the Training & Development (HR) to implement standardized quality training for all Cardinal LG Team Members
- Partners with production staff to train and implement process improvement and standardization
- Trains and develops Quality Technicians
- Participates in new hire onboarding by presenting Cardinal LG quality philosophies and expectations
Personnel
- Hire, train and manage Quality Technicians - there are currently three individuals within the department.
Equipment
- Responsible for the care and use of multi-million-dollar equipment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Accept more challenging assignments as experience and knowledge allows.
- Train others to help them gain knowledge in your strength areas as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous supervisory management experience
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
- Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but still able to recognize and support the organization’s mission
- Self-directed/self-managed
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or 5-10 years’ experience in a Continuous Improvement/Quality Management role or other related area)
- Lean Certification
- 3 years’ experience in manufacturing
- Excellent communication and writing skills

- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Certified Quality Inspector
- Project management experience
- TWI Certification

Salary: $64,500.00 - $78,500.00 per year Up to 52% of gross monthly earnings through our Profit Sharing Program
