Duties:
- Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) tests on patients to record and analyze their heart's electrical activity.
- Prepare patients for EKG procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Attach electrodes to the patient's chest, arms, and legs to capture the electrical signals of the heart.
- Operate EKG equipment and monitor the patient's heart rhythm during the procedure.
- Recognize and troubleshoot any technical issues with the equipment during testing.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret EKG results and provide accurate reports.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, test results, and any other relevant data.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- Certification as an EKG Technician or equivalent experience in performing EKG tests.
- Knowledge of sonography, vital signs, diagnostic evaluation, anatomy, cardiac catheterization, aseptic technique, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
