Job Description
CardWorks Servicing ("CWS") is one of the largest privately-held provider of outsourcing services for bankcard-related products to banks and non-bank lenders in North America. CWS offers management expertise across the credit spectrum and supports both MasterCard and Visa accounts as well as a variety of private label debit, credit, stored value, and customer bankcards.
Position Summary:
This role supports data sourcing, Integration, building transformations, deployment, and administration initiatives within Data Strategy and Architecture Department. The Manager is responsible for development of data processes required for warehouse and oversee use of data, including efficient ways to organize, store and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality. Lead and coordinate data platform release lifecycle and support activities as well as setting up best practices, standards and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Drives Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process end to end through clear communication and collaboration across technology and Business teams
- Responsible for design, development, testing, deployment and administration of Data Staging/Landing pad, Raw Data Layer (Data Lake), Transformed Enterprise Data Layer and Federated / Consumer Data Stores as part of CardWorks Data Strategy and Architecture
- Challenge status quo, identify improvement opportunities, come up with idea to better, influence and implement
- Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure accurate, adequate and legitimate data
- Implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis
- Understand requirements, analyze data and design data integration processes/patterns while providing solutions to potential data issues and
- Develop efficient data warehouse models while ensuring ease of use for end users
- Prepare technical and system specifications documents including Source to Target Mapping documents covering how data sources are to be integrated and data transformation rules, load rules and mapping of source system fields to the fields of a target system.
- Develop ETL and/or ELT scripts/programs and perform unit tests on all processes and maintain evidence of the same.
- Document all test procedures for systems and processes and coordinate with business analysts and users to resolve all requirement issues and maintain quality for same.
- Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
- Perform root cause analysis on all processes and resolve all production issues and validate all data and perform routine tests on databases and provide support to all ETL applications.
- Adherence to legal and company standards
- Performs other job duties as assigned and assist with reports and data extraction as needed
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required
- Eight (8) years’ experience in developing and managing enterprise information delivery initiatives within distributed environments required
- Experience working with ETL tools such as IBM Data Stage, Informatica Data Integration or similar tools is a must
- Experience in Requirements Collection, Documentation, Design, Development and Deployment of data processes is required
- Consumer Financial Services background is preferred
Summary of Qualifications:
- Proven experience as data manager covering data acquisition, integration , migration and transformation aspects of data management
- Strong Data Warehousing experience across multiple technologies, including prior experience in at least couple of SQL-Based databases like Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, Red Shift, Google Big Query etc.)
- Must be able to support releases as well as daily processing
- Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
- Familiarity with common CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Git and job scheduling tools
- Experience with Systems Development Lifecycle, specifically Agile/Scrum.
- Experience working in a release management capacity for Data Warehouse development
- Problem solver who can work in multiple projects (in parallel) in a fast paced environment
- Ability to collaborate with multiple teams diagnosing and debugging complex issues requiring strong analytical, problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team and communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Experience with data architecture methodologies a plus.
- Experience working with Data Science (SAS or Python or R) and BI tools (DOMO or Qlik) a plus
